Worn during warm-ups at home throughout the season, the jerseys feature the historic Rangers crest that served as the organization’s primary logo from 1980 to 1992. While the familiar diagonal RANGERS script remained on the club’s home and away jerseys during that period, the crest was part of the Rangers’ identity throughout an era that included back-to-back OHL championships in 1981 and 1982 and the franchise’s first Memorial Cup championship in 1982. More than four decades later, the crest returns to the ice as the Rangers enter the 2026-27 season as reigning Memorial Cup champions, creating a connection between the eras of the franchise’s first and most recent championships.
A CHAMPIONSHIP LEGACY
The warm-up jersey also features a commemorative shoulder patch recognizing each of the Rangers’ three Memorial Cup Championships: 1982, 2003 and 2026. Throughout their history, the Rangers have earned a berth in the OHL Final to compete for the J. Ross Robertson Cup on nine occasions, capturing the championship five times in 1981, 1982, 2003, 2008 and 2026. Kitchener has also appeared in seven Memorial Cups; 1981, 1982, 1984, 1990, 2003, 2008 and 2026, advancing to the championship game in each of those seven appearances. The Rangers have been crowned Memorial Cup champions three times, in 1982, 2003 and 2026. Together, the historic crest and championship shoulder patch celebrate more than four decades of Rangers history, connecting generations of players, teams and fans who have helped shape the organization.
WARM-UPS WITH A PURPOSE
The 2026-27 warm-up jersey was created in collaboration with Rangers Reach, continuing the tradition of using the team’s warm-up jerseys to give back to the Waterloo Region community. Towards the end of the season, the player-worn / issued warm-up jerseys will be auctioned, with all proceeds allocated for donations to community groups and grants through Rangers Reach. The initiative allows each jersey to represent more than the history celebrated on its design. By connecting the Rangers’ championship legacy with the organization’s commitment to its community, the 2026-27 warm-up jerseys celebrate where the Rangers have been while helping make an impact close to home. The Rangers will wear the jerseys during warm-ups at home games throughout the remainder of the 2026-27 season.
